Default Economy!?

Alright, now im sure of the fact that this has been asked about, and talked about repeatidly... but umm... really...

What can be done to possibly help the economy? I mean... i personaly liked the way they had it at first (where gold was HARD to get, like nearly all items sold for 1 gold)... i mean, the addition of platinum seems to slow things down, but i see items already getting up to 20-60 platinum, and we can hold how much platinum at one time?

Like, the 15k armor is different looking, but lots of people are viewing it as just a pure waste (Not me, im stacked out on it)...

The underworld lvls and everything costing 1k is another good drain... but we need something more, something... different. I mean, if you beat the game through, and dont quest at all, you still make reasonably 30 platinum, and with the farming, which is non avoidable... its Very easy to make money...

While it's not in trouble as of now, it's a process that needs to be slowed down even more, any ideas/suggestions should be welcome in this thread.

1. Perhaps guild hall custimizations? example:: Guild bank/ guild training area
2. Maybe add in something in towns to do while trading (as it's a very boring and slow process) example:: A casino merchant, with just simple functions/ help with these sort of ideas ^.^
3. Perhaps an arena gambling section for either the tournaments (bet on the teams entering the tournament*In your region* and bet on those that will win the hoh) // Perhaps the 4v4 random, betting/watching area for those too?
4. I don't know about everyone else, but i would pay to have some sort of town "flying" ability for your guys, of course you have to get through pre-searing, and get to your bank to have enough money... but if you have enough money, perhaps you'd be able to "fly" somehow, or whatever to the next area, such as yak's bend/lion's arch, and the farther you go, the more it costs... (Helps with some problems of not wanting to go through all missions over again) **Ascention is hard as hell if you're not a high enough lvl, so they'll still have to lvl up, but most likely that can be done with guild mates (which would also help with people communicating, and working together)

I'm open to other suggestions / flames / discussions / dissagreements
Of course things always look better to the person who wants them ^.^

On your person, you can only hold 100 plat at a time (pretty sure). So the price cannot get above that (unless the devs approve of this gross inflation and increase the amount of money you can carry, thus increasing the possible price).

Your ideas...
#1-I like (a lot)
#2-Indifferent. I hate the illegitimate casinos, but game regulated ones I can tolderate
#3-Would be ok, but still I don't really care either way
#4-No, just no. Don't take the challenge out of the game

And I do not see how creating things with which to waste your money will combat inflation. I like wasting money, but inflation will occur no matter how many casinos or customization options there are (people will just bet more and more gold as the value goes down)

There is no real way to combat inflation, and unfortunantly I fear this game may turn out like Diablo 2. The entire economy is based not on Gold, but on item trading. They need something valuble that can be done with massive amounts of gold, so that it remains in a shorter supply. Guild Hall improvements costing 100,000 gold or so would be great, but NPC casinos would not, as people may eventually win more than they lost.

Based on the law of averages. And how the code works in its averages for the games to work in favor of the casino. If the law of averages is in the NPC's favor, the player will never win more then they should, their losses will balance out and typically overthrow their win counts.

As long as the random number generator is good and the casino is properly programmed with an advantage for the house (say, 5% advantage) then there's no reason to believe that in the long run the amount of money available won't decrease. No betting strategy will improve your odds when it's something as simple as rolling a die.

Correction. Putting a cap on the min/max amount you can bet will eliminate any advantage gained by varying your bet, if that's even allowed.

The age of stuff selling for 100p + is already upon us. (sigils)

Superior fire runes for 70k + ???

Utterly ridiculous. I have no problems getting money, but that's totally outrageous. Same with superior absorb.. and other high demand superior runes. People are just going out of their way to rip people off so they can buy their armor or whatever.

I refuse to give them my money

Sigils will be more common soon so maybe that will help. Who knows.. but it's pretty stupid .. trades are almost useless because you'd have to trade like 10 superior earth runes for one fire.

Just madness. >P

I was inspired to suggest one way to do betting on fights that should be quick and easy.

One-on-one duelling arena with betting.

Well, we have the dye system. Although only barely noticable for anyone worth their weight in plat.

We could add an NPC to change your hair style/color (hey, maybe when you first made your char, you chose a shitty do, nothing a stylist can't fix right? 1k for a cut, 1k for a dye job {and you gotta bring your own dye}).

Maybe it's time to add some more custom end-game gear. Armor pieces that have the same stats as the current end-game stuff, just with DRASTICALLY different appearances (so hey, you can still have your 15k armor, but you don't have to look like EVERYONE else who has it too).

Add a feature where you can buy more inventory space. 5k for every extra item slot (with a max of 10 additional slots).

Maybe add a personal storage area. Kind of like your own private island hut or something. 25-50 items can be stored there (after buying the island, which would be like, 75k, you have to buy storage space for it {can't just leave your goods lying on the floor can we?}. naturally, 5k per storage unit). Maybe it'll put weapons you store on display in the hut for you. This would be disconnected from your main storage though. You'd have to travel there via boat or map warp to access it.
Edit: The island would be instanced, like any non-town map. You, and only you could bring someone to your personal hut (So when bob clicks on his hut on the map, he goes to Bob's Island, while Joe would go to Joe's Island if Joe had clicked on the hut... assuming both owned their own island). And only you can access your items on the island (so no need to worry about disconnects then being robbed by someone you took there).

I dunno, just some random things I came up with...
